Membership Benefits
TAAILS is an organization of teamwork. Our focus is strengthening the AAI community and encouraging its practitioners (professionals and para-professionals) to follow the highest standards of practice for AAI/AAT/AAE.
Networking & Support
Networking and support are integral to any professional community. Without a network, AAI practitioners may feel isolated and may be unaware of AAI best practices. Discussion and collaboration with like-minded individuals creates more effective, innovative, and considerate solutions. At TAAILS we are constantly expanding our network.

Professional Development
Continued growth is integral to positive change. Through new ideas, knowledge, and insights we remain innovative in our approaches to Animal Assisted Interactions. TAAILS is working on a professional development plan that meets the needs of its members.

Standards & Accountability
Standards of practice create a foundation for professionalism. Responsible AAI professionals understand and adhere to current standards and best practices. Accountability means that we are responsible for our actions. By being responsible for our actions, we are more thorough and considerate of who will be affected and how.

Animal & Handler Awareness
Appropriately screened therapy animals are key to virtually every successful AAI session. A practitioner may work in cooperation with an animal handler who focuses on the needs of the therapy animal, while the practitioner focuses on the client. Some practitioners do "double duty" by handling a familiar therapy animal, while simultaneously conducting their AAI session. Professionals require keen awareness of the dynamics between every participant involved in AAI sessions.
