TAAILS was incorporated as a not-for-profit in Alberta in April, 2014. Five founding members from multi-disciplinary backgrounds came together to inspire professionalism and high standards of practice within AAI. The founders were Angila Chase (psychology); Linda Shaw (nursing); Amanda Baird (psychology); Chelsea Weiman (occupational therapy); and Cheryl Newton-Skirrow (adult education). Since then new members have added their expertise and insights. TAAILS promotes networking amongst animal assisted professionals, both new and experienced.
We are currently focused on creating communications platforms, increasing our network of members, planning professional development events, and setting priorities based on member input.
